I used to lead an anti-theft group on here, years ago, when I still had the time and when the admins were still taking 3rd-party reports.

If I remember correctly, we had a public list of suspected and confirmed art thieves for a while. It didn't stay very long because we got swamped with complaints about it, from those on the list and others, and some members were acting way too overzealous with their reporting. We may have even gotten on the admins' radar because of the public list, and I think they gave us a warning (it was so long ago, I really don't remember what happened), so in the end, we took it down in order to prevent further potential harassment...and prevent having the group getting shut down.

So if Groups aren't allowed to publicly post those types of callout lists, what the fuck makes you think it's perfectly acceptable to post the same type of list yourselves in your journals or profile? Your little disclaimer of "Don't attack these people" is not a fucking excuse, since that doesn't do anything. People are still going to use your callout list to harass those who are on it. And guess who will be held responsible for encouraging the harassment? You. Because you're the one who openly gave them the names.
