'I KNO MOAR ABOUT UR OWN FAITH THAN U DO!'

I just had a conservative, Bible-thumping Christian try to tell me––an agnostic Wiccan––on what Wicca practices.



Long story short: I laughed my ass off, and then I schooled them hard on Wiccan theology and what it really involves. Because no, it doesn't involve the worship of demons or the devil, you ignorant boob. There's no such thing as demons or the devil in Wicca. That's Satanism (which is actually much nicer and more philanthropic than it seems, if you did any light research on it or talked to any members of the faith...Well, at least LaVeyan Satanism is)...Totally different religion, but uses the same pentacle only inverted.

But really...You're going to try to teach someone about their own faith, when you yourself don't even belong to that faith? That's like male Congressmen trying to tell women about how women's reproductive systems work. Like I don't know how my own faith works or how my own body works.

I used to be Christian/Catholic. I was baptized and raised Catholic. It wasn't until college that I basically said "FUCK THIS HOMOPHOBIC CRAP. I DON'T FEEL ANY DIVINE PRESENCE, THIS GOD HAS NEVER ANSWERED ANY OF MY PRAYERS, HE SOUNDS LIKE A RUTHLESS DICKHEAD, AND WE'RE READING THE SAME CONTRADICTING SHIT OUT OF A 3,000+ YEAR OLD BOOK OF FAIRY TALES. I'M OUT."

Just because I switched faiths doesn't mean I don't know anything about Christianity anymore. I still do. In fact, I seem to know more about what the Bible says than most of the zealous Christians I've met, who persistently (and even intentionally) cherry-pick shit out of the Bible to fit with their worldview while ignoring all the other prohibiting rules in it. (This is a "sin," that's a "sin," I'm going to "hell" for this "sin"...Well, what about all these other rules in the Bible? *unrolls giant list* And you guys call me the hypocrite. )

_{Not fully converted yet and still stuck in the religious closet because I'm still not really sure if there is such a thing as any deity...and because I'm worried about what most of my extended, devout Christian family members would say. My parents kinda already know (I accidentally outed myself a few years ago out of anger to my mom...3 days before Christmas. That was really bad timing on my end) and I have relatives who converted to Baptist...But pagan? Yeeeaaaah, not really confident about that...}
