Description

Opening up comments on this one too.

:iconreadthedescription-1::iconreadthedescription-2:
If there's too many people not reading the description, I'm turning off comments.

This goes along with my "Nerdy is the new 'cute'" stamp.

"Sapioromantic/sexual:"

(adj) A form of sexual orientation characterized by a strong attraction to intelligence in others, often regardless of gender and/or conventional attractiveness.
One who finds intelligence the most sexually attractive feature.
"I want an incisive, inquisitive, insightful, irreverent mind. I want someone for whom philosophical discussion is foreplay. I want someone who sometimes makes me go ouch due to their wit and evil sense of humor. I want someone that I can reach out and touch randomly. I want someone I can cuddle with. I decided all that means that I am sapiosexual."  --"Wolfieboy

“Attracted to intelligence? Is that really a thing?”

I thought it was weird too…Until I realized that’s the reason why I have a squish on my own villain Ludey and the character who heavily influenced me to create him. And anybody else who’s around their field of interest (philosophy, science, etc). In fact, there's possibly 9 types of intelligences in all humans. I happen to be attracted to almost all of them, but mainly Naturalist, Logical-Mathematical, Existential, Linguistic, Intra-personal, and Spacial/Artistic. (You can probably guess Ludey's intelligence type). I seem to have Naturalist, Existential, Interpersonal, Linguistic, Intra-personal, and Spacial intelligences:
• I have a deep admiration for nature and astronomy
• I'm always wondering how we got here, why we're here, how life works, how we're born into this body in this one family and on this one planet
• I'm often sensitive to people's feelings (empath)
• I love creative writing and storytelling (and I seem to have an exceptional knack for it, despite having only 2 years of Creative Writing education)
• I can easily motivate myself and I can easily understand myself and who I am (most of the time)
• I have a highly active imagination (I'm almost constantly daydreaming), I love animation/art, and I'm resourceful in solving problems with mental imagery
...So it makes sense that I would be attracted to those types of intelligences too in other people. Particularly in guys.

I really don't know what it is about people with these types of intelligence, but I just melt into a puddle of euphoria and adore the crap out of them for it. Bonus points if they have dark hair. And not knowing why you're attracted to someone seems to happen with everyone regardless of sexuality or identity, so in that sense...Attraction to someone's intelligence and not knowing why is kinda what makes it seem real.

On top of that, I heard about this as an official term in “The Invisible Orientation” recently, now making me a firm believer that yes…It’s possible. I see it more as being a type of person you're attracted to instead of an actual orientation, but in any case, I think it's possible.

But I've always craved learning. (I just hate being stuck in a classroom-setting listening to a boring, unexciting lecture.) I enjoy watching shows like Cosmos, Mythbusters, other scientific shows, and even The Big Bang Theory because I love to learn everything I can and be amused while learning. I even liked to do the experiments in class because I was so fascinated with watching science in action. (Which is why I like Mythbusters)

So being a smarty-pants/a "deep thinker" ranks as #1 on my list of preferred traits in potential soul-mates. They make me all excited, like “Let’s go learn about science and history and do experiments and stuff! :Bummies: ″  It has nothing to do with being in love with their brain itself. That’s silly because everyone’s brains look like a mass of mushy gray sponges. Eww.

But it’s the intriguing ways of how they use their brain that gets me emotionally turned on.

So I'm actually a hetero-sapioromantic asexual...For some, if they're sapioromantic/sexual, they can go for anybody of any gender, since they're only attracted to their intelligence. But for me, I'm attracted to just brainy boys. If you're a brainy/nerdy girl, I'll love you as a friend, but not on a romantic level.

How can I easily tell that I could be sapio-romantic? I'm also emotionally attracted to nerdy characters. My own Ludey, Artemis Fowl, Maxie from Pokemon ORAS, Ed Elric...That certainly explains a lot. :slow:

I figure it's a sexual/romantic preference rather than an orientation. ; v ;

But ye, nerds are cute as fuck.
