EDIT: Yes, I know the difference between true otherkin people who actually do feel out of touch with themselves in some way but still know that they're human...and the extreme ones. But I'm talking about the extreme ones here, like the kids running around on Tumblr and here with cutesy pronouns of "MAH PRONOUNS ARE BUN/BUNSELF!!1!" and claiming to be a rabbit or a flower.

Inspired by getting called "racist" and "selfish" by a supposedly 21 year old, because I didn't believe they were an "alien god." At this point, I'm not sure if I should be laughing...Or deeply concerned about their mental state. There was just so much wrong with the stuff they said, it was rather sad.

First off, telling you that I hate your skin-color would be racist. Calling you a human because THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE, is not "racist."
Second, you're a fine one to talk about being selfish when you think so highly of yourself due to your delusions of grandeur of being an extra-terrestrial god. Believing that you're the equivalent of Jesus Christ (according to their signature) as some alien god is fucking selfish. Calling you immature for believing that is not selfish of me. The truth hurts, kiddo. Sorry.
Third, there's a common saying of "Put up, or shut up," meaning

Unless you have PHYSICAL proof (i.e. a selfie where you haven't cosmetically altered yourself) of being something other than human, YOU ARE A HUMAN.

...Regardless of whatever the hell you believe you are.

No, I certainly don't. But I still have the right to disagree with your bullshit label, because it doesn't follow any basic logic or science.

"But just ask my friends! They'll tell you!"
Sure, they'll just tell me the same bullshit, but not show any legit proof. Or they'll claim that they know you're a human, but are pretending to go along with it, just to keep you happy.

Let me try to make this sound less harsh, okay?
• If you think you're a reincarnation of some animal or you have a "spirit animal," fine. That's your spiritual belief and I don't mind whatever religious or spiritual stuff you believe in.
• You think you're some fictional character or mythological creature? Okay, that's kinda delusional as well, but you do you.

It's the running around in public going "I'M A SPARKLE UNICORN WOLF-DRAGON FROM OUTER SPACE!!1!! " that I take issue with.
Because really, what the fuck are you doing? Stop it, that's embarrassing. In fact, I feel embarrassed for you because you look like a fucking idiot. So unless you have physical proof that you're a non-human, I'm not going to believe you and I don't want to associate with someone who parades it around in public like that. Keep it to yourself and/or between your friends. But when you parade around your special otherkin label in public, people are going to look at you like you're a fucking whack-job. Really...Just what are expecting will happen? People automatically accept you as being some sparkle-dog or alien god? The first thing they would do is look at you weirdly, and then ask you for proof. Many people already have a difficult time trying to understand the possibility of being gay or asexual, for fuck's sake! So do you honestly think that people are going to accept your otherkin label with open arms?! My own mother couldn't understand that I was asexual, so if I stuck an otherkin label on myself too, she would probably cart me off to mental clinic. And that's a pretty reasonable reaction too because believing that you're a non-human being is always going to be taken as a sign of a serious psychological problem, that you are not mentally well.

If you got physical proof to back up your claims and debunk the bullshit, then either put up or shut up...and grow the fuck up. Do I wish that I could have magical powers to save the world? Of course I do. But at 10 years old, I suddenly realized that was fucking impossible and there was a huge fat chance of that ever happening in my life...So I decided to write 9 fictional books on it instead, because I still loved that childhood dream.

So please pull your heads out of your delusional fantasies and come back to reality. I definitely understand and feel for you on the whole "living in your heads because reality is shit" concept, but if you don't mature and get with the program now, you are going to have a terrible time when you finally go out into the real wold. Reality will hit you in the face like a fully-loaded truck if you're still mentally living in your fantasies. In fact, the real world is still fucking terrifying for me, because I'm going to be graduating college in the spring...And I'm not living in my head.
