Grow the hell up.

Have you ever heard of "Balloon Boy" and his attention-seeking family who pulled off the worldwide media hoax of him being stuck in a weather balloon that drifted all over the Colorado skies until it finally touched down with no one inside and they discovered that the boy that was supposedly in there was actually hiding in their house the entire time? And the family finally admitted that they freaked out most of the damn planet with this stunt...Just to get their own reality show?

Well, faking your death online or pretending you have terminal cancer to get attention is kind of the same thing and has somewhat similar consequences. Because it really pisses people off when you're discovered to be faking it...Just like the "Balloon Boy" hoax. The parents ended up getting thrown in jail for a while and forced to pay a heavy fine for sending police on a wild goose chase across 3 counties and scared the country and most parts of the world with their bullshit.

I recently saw someone admit that they lied about being suicidal...After confronting them to tell them to never lie about suicide for attention, they said "why do u think I lied about it...?" So I tore them a new one. And they blocked me for it, then had the audacity to post a call-out journal on me with "BAWWWWWWW!!! I WAZ RAPED TWICE AND CUT MAHSELF A BAJILLION TIMEZ!!1!! Y U SO MEAN TO ME?!?!?"while having two journals up about how they did weed and cocaine for grins and giggles and literally begged watchers for fan letters...All posted within a day. That made it pretty fucking clear that they faked their death and were most likely lying about cutting themselves and raped twice. Because for someone who's suicidal and claimed to have both bipolar-depression and general depression, they seemed to be enjoying themselves lately.

I only have three words for you if you fake this shit. Go fuck yourself.

• My ex almost committed suicide twice because of his abusive parents.
• My dad had basal-cell carcinoma (skin cancer) on his ear that we were lucky enough to have it be caught very early and have him go through chemo for a few months.
• My grandfather's side is prone to melanoma, a relative has been diagnosed with it, and my brother, my mother, and I have moles and freckles that we have to keep an eye on.
• My other grandfather died of leukemia when I was a baby.
• My childhood friend's father died of leukemia as well when they were little.
• I've had a relative die in a car-accident...Either I wasn't born yet or I was too young to know him well.
• I have friends at school who are being treated for thyroid cancer and another is rape-survivor.
• My dad had a shop-neighbor who died a few years ago from some form of cancer...And I actually knew her pretty well. My brother and I would often come over to visit her business whenever we were at Dad's shop and she gave us a simple gift during holidays or special occasions. (The last gift she gave me was one of her metal flower candle-holders that she sold as her business...The day I found out she died, I placed the metal flower near my bed and ended up crying myself to sleep that night. That was the first time someone I personally knew had died.)
• My former roommate had a mental breakdown in the middle of her semester and is now being treated for some sort of mental illness.
• I've had neighbors die from Alzheimer's and from kidney disease.
• I know an old friend who's uncle killed himself when they were younger.

This goes for faking disorders/disabilities too...I have both scoliosis and ADD. So it really fucking pisses me off when I find out someone was bullshitting this stuff for attention. If you are, you deserve the lecture I give you for it. If you're going to be a whiny attention-whore by faking suicide, a disorder, or cancer, then I'm going to fucking call you out on it, whether you're 13 or 40.
