Don't use your beliefs to deny anyone a right.

Would've animated this, but I was too lazy. So sorry if it's small.

To deny any group of people a right based on religious beliefs is pretty much forcing them to follow those beliefs.
It may not look like you're forcing anyone, but when you're using your religious beliefs to deny anyone a basic human right, that's pretty much the same thing as forcing them to conform to your religion's standards.

For example: Same-sex marriage.
When it comes to religious beliefs, particularly Christianity, there's only "Holy Matrimony." In a nutshell, it's a marriage between a man and a woman, performed in God's presence. Everyone who's Christian or studied Christianity knows this. But bottom line, marriage in general is an official, domesticated union between two people. It doesn't always have to do with it being between a man and a woman. That's most often a religious marriage, not a civil marriage. A man and a woman don't have to be married by a church either to make it official. Many marriages are done outside religion, under the civil laws of domesticated unions. Those marriages are made official by the government, not by any religion.

As everyone knows, many people deny the right to marry to same-sex couples, solely because their religious beliefs forbid a domesticated union between two people of the same gender. But marriage doesn't always have to do with any religion. You have to remember that the First Amendment of the Constitution states that the government shouldn't limit the practice of religion. However, it also applies for the other way around; religion cannot limit what the government can or cannot do. That's where the "Separation of Church and State" phrase comes from. The Church, or any religion, is always separate from the federal government, including the state governments, so neither of them interfere with the other. But many people tend to forget about this when they openly deny the right to marry.

To put it simply:

When you use your religious beliefs to deny a group of people a basic human right, you are forcing those people to follow your religious beliefs.

Your religion doesn't allow it and it violates your religious standards. But by imposing those rules on other people's rights, you're trying to force everyone else to follow those standards. In other words, you're forcing your religious beliefs onto other people by denying them the right to marry someone of the same gender...Only because your religion says that's wrong. That's why it's considered "unconstitutional" to deny LGBTs the right to marry. You're imposing your religious standards onto them.

I'm hoping I've cleared that up for many of you now...
